Terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan attacked a Customs check post in Ziarat Cross, Balochistan. According to officials, FC and police personnel were also deployed to provide security to the Customs post. Initial reports indicate that 10 terrorists were killed in the retaliatory action by personnel at the post, while a Customs official and six security personnel, including an officer, were injured in the exchange of fire.
FC Quick Reaction Forces reached the site, and the search and pursuit of fleeing terrorists are ongoing. The check post has been established to monitor and prevent the movement of non-customs-paid vehicles, drugs and smuggled goods entering from Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak-Chaman border.
Following the attack, the Khwarij set fire to several vehicles parked inside the warehouse compound, causing significant damage and triggering panic in the area. Firefighters and emergency teams were dispatched to the scene and subsequently brought the blaze under control.
Security forces and police immediately cordoned off the area following the incident and launched search and clearance operations to locate any remaining Khwarij and secure the surrounding area.
The attack comes amid intensified counterterrorism operations across Balochistan, particularly in the province’s northern and western districts. Security forces have recently conducted a series of intelligence-based operations targeting Khwarij and other terrorists networks.
Attack Follows Recent Security Operations
The Ziarat Cross attack comes against the backdrop of intensified security operations across Balochistan. Security forces have recently reported significant successes against terrorists networks in Chagai, Washuk, Awaran, Mashkel, Bolan and Turbat.
In Chagai, security forces reported killing 18 Khwarij, while two others were killed in an operation in Washuk. Security forces also reported the deaths of four Khwarij in Awaran.
Earlier, on August 29, four Khwarij were killed in Mashkel, while another four were eliminated in Bolan. Three more Khwarij were killed in an operation in Turbat.
Ziarat’s Continuing Security Challenge
The Ziarat Cross attack adds to a growing pattern of attacks against security and state installations in the broader Pishin–Ziarat and northern Balochistan belt.
Earlier, terrorists targeted a police post in the Mangi Dam area of Ziarat, where nine police personnel were martyred. Security forces subsequently conducted a clearance operation in the area and reported killing 15 terrorists.
In Saranan, Pishin, terrorists also targeted a police station and government infrastructure, highlighting the continuing attempts by terrorists groups to undermine the state’s presence in the Pashtun belt of Balochistan.
The repeated targeting of police stations, Customs facilities, security posts and other government installations indicates that terrorist groups are attempting to disrupt state institutions and create insecurity along important routes.
Security forces have also continued clearance operations following major intelligence-based actions, targeting terrorists hideouts, weapons caches and networks involved in attacks against security personnel and government installations.
The latest attack at Ziarat Cross underscores the continuing security challenge in northern Balochistan, where police stations, Customs facilities, security positions and other state installations remain potential targets.
Despite such attacks, security forces continue to conduct intelligence-based and clearance operations to disrupt Khwarij networks, protect government installations and prevent militants from establishing operational footholds across the province.
