According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) in Islamabad, the quake’s epicenter was 100 kilometers southeast of Zhob at a depth of 10 kilometers. Residents fled their homes in panic, reciting verses from the Holy Quran as they gathered in open spaces. Local authorities confirmed the tremor caused no disruptions to daily life.

Later in the day, a stronger earthquake measuring 5.9 in magnitude was recorded, shaking cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several northern regions such as Murree, Peshawar, Malakand, and Bajaur. The quake’s epicenter was along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border at a depth of 94 kilometers. Tremors were also felt in Afghanistan’s Jalalabad city.

Residents in Punjab cities such as Okara, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, and Chiniot also reported tremors, prompting evacuations as a precautionary measure. Despite the widespread seismic activity, emergency response teams confirmed that no casualties or major damage impacts were reported.
