Kech, Balochistan — A woman was allegedly abducted in broad daylight on Tuesday evening in the Balacha area of Kech district, in an incident that has sparked serious concern among local residents.
According to the family, the incident occurred between 4:30 pm and 4:45 pm when a Corolla car stopped outside their home. Armed men reportedly forced a woman identified as Nargis into the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The woman’s husband and nephew immediately chased the vehicle and managed to intercept it near Nasirabad. The husband stated that an armed man carrying a Kalashnikov stepped out of the car when they confronted the suspects and informed them the abducted woman was his wife.
Shortly afterward, two motorcycles carrying additional armed men arrived at the location. The family alleges the men assaulted the husband, seized mobile phones from both relatives, and forcibly took the woman away again toward the forested area of Nasirabad.
The incident has been reported to all relevant law enforcement agencies, and police say they are engaged in response efforts.
Fears of Organized Militant Activity
Residents say the daylight abduction at gunpoint, followed by the arrival of armed reinforcements and movement toward a remote area, suggests the possibility of a coordinated militant-style operation, rather than a personal dispute or ordinary crime.
The family claims that individuals on the motorcycles were carrying flags associated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
Concerns Over Exploitation of Women in Conflict Zones
Security observers and rights advocates have previously raised concerns that women in conflict-affected areas may be vulnerable to coercion, abuse, and exploitation by militant networks. Such groups have been accused in past reports of using intimidation, psychological pressure, and violence to control victims.
While these patterns have been discussed in broader security analyses, authorities have not confirmed any motive in this specific case. Nonetheless, the nature of the incident has intensified fears about the safety of women in remote parts of Balochistan.
Locals describe the incident as deeply alarming, emphasizing that the abduction of a woman in daylight has heightened insecurity in the area. Community members are calling for a transparent investigation, public updates from authorities, and urgent efforts to ensure the woman’s safe recovery.
Officials have urged the public to avoid speculation while investigations continue.
