A western weather system is expected to affect large parts of Balochistan between March 25 and 28, bringing rain, thunderstorms and strong winds, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Monday.
According to PMD officials, the system is likely to enter the province through neighbouring Iran and may intensify over western and central districts, raising the possibility of heavy rainfall in several areas.
Anjum Nazir Zaigham, deputy director of the Karachi Meteorological Department, said the system would primarily impact Balochistan before extending its influence to parts of Sindh.
He warned that strong winds and thunderstorm activity could lead to disruptions in daily life, particularly in vulnerable and remote areas of the province.
The Met Office noted that temperatures recorded across the country in February and March have remained above normal, a factor that may increase the intensity and variability of ongoing weather patterns.
Officials cautioned that heavy rain may result in flash flooding in low-lying areas, while gusty winds could damage weak structures.
The PMD advised residents to take precautionary measures, avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions and stay updated with official forecasts.
The system is expected to weaken after March 28.
