Waleed Saleh Baloch, the brother of National Party (NP) central leader and member of the Balochistan Assembly Rahmat Saleh Baloch, was shot dead in Panjgur on Sunday.

Waleed Saleh Baloch was targeted by a Proscribed terrorist group.

Both the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the National Party confirmed the killing through official statements.

Earlier Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Zakir Baloch, ADC Shaheed Hidayatullah Baloch, and now Shaheed Waleed Saleh along with hundreds of other educated and talented young Baloch have been brutally martyred by the terrorists in Balochistan.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the incident and ordered the immediate arrest of those involved.

According to a statement issued by the CM House, Bugti said: “All available resources will be utilized to ensure justice for the affected family.” The chief minister also sought a detailed report from the police regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, the National Party also condemned the killing and announced a three-day mourning period. In its statement, the party said that Waleed Saleh Baloch was celebrating his wedding when he was targeted.

The NP statement added: “This is not just the murder of an ordinary citizen, but of a man belonging to a respected political family that has always believed in peace, non-violence, tolerance, and democratic values.”

The party blamed the government for failing to ensure citizens’ safety, calling the incident “proof of the state’s inability to protect lives and property.”

The statement further said that the killing has caused “deep shock and grief among the people and political circles of Balochistan.” It described the attack as part of the “conspiracies of anti-peace elements who want to destabilize Balochistan politically and socially.”

PPP leader Haji Ali Madad Jatak and CM’s Adviser Dr. Rababa Khan Boladi also condemned the murder, calling it “a tragic and alarming incident posing a serious threat to peace across the province.”

It is worth mentioning that a year ago, another brother of Rahmat Saleh Baloch survived an attack near Mastung on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway, in which the Deputy Commissioner of Panjgur was killed.
