BFA shuts down two illegal food units in Quetta over safety violations
BFA sealed two illegal food units on violations of food safety laws

The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) carried out a major operation on Sarki Road in Quetta, where they found and sealed two illegal food units for serious violations of food safety laws.

The two units included a Khoya supplier and a juice production unit, both secretly operating from residential houses. During the inspection, the Khoya supplier failed to provide any receipts or traceability records. The Khoya was found stored in unhygienic and poor conditions, and the unit was operating without a valid BFA license.

In the juice production unit, the team discovered drinks being made under fake and unregistered brand names. Raw materials and finished products were stored improperly, the production process was substandard, and the juice packaging had incorrect addresses and fake contact numbers. No lab reports were available for the products.

BFA’s food safety team took samples of four different juice brands from the unit and sent them for laboratory testing. Early results suggest these products may be harmful to public health, which prompted the immediate action.

A BFA spokesperson emphasized that strict measures will continue against those endangering public health. No one will be allowed to produce or sell substandard or fake food products in the province.
