
Police from the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) have arrested a car thief in injured condition following an alleged encounter.
According to police, 24-year-old Mohsin Ali, son of Ghulam Shabbir, was injured during the encounter near Piracha Cemetery in Qasba Colony on the night between Monday and Tuesday. He was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by a Chhipa ambulance.
A Karachi police spokesperson stated that the arrested suspect is an operative of the Amjad Lashari gang and has stolen 10 to 12 vehicles in Karachi. The suspect used to sell the stolen vehicles in Mashkay, Balochistan. During the operation, police also recovered a weapon with ammunition, a mobile phone, cash, and a stolen car.
Police officials have stated that cases for the recovered weapon and the police encounter are being registered at the Pirabad police station. Raids are being conducted to arrest the suspect’s accomplices and recover more vehicles.
