Pakistan and United States have renewed their commitment to working together against all forms of terrorism following a Counter-Terrorism Dialogue held in Islamabad. The meeting was co-chaired by Nabeel Munir from Pakistan and Gregory De Laugerfo from the US State Department, as noted in a statement released by the US Embassy.
During the discussions, both countries underlined their determination to tackle terrorist threats, with particular focus on groups like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), ISIS-Khorasan, and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The United States acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and successes in countering terrorism and expressed its condolences over the loss of innocent lives in recent attacks, including the Jaffar Express bombing and the tragic school bus incident in Khuzdar.

The two sides agreed on the need to address evolving security challenges, especially those involving the use of advanced technology by terrorist groups. They also discussed the importance of strengthening institutional systems and building greater capacity to effectively respond to terrorist activities.
In addition, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to working together through international forums, such as the United Nations, and emphasized that ongoing, structured communication is key to eliminating terrorism and ensuring long-term peace and stability in the region.
