Security forces have killed three terrorists, including Khawarij commander Naqeeb alias Ameer, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mastung, Balochistan, under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna III, according to intelligence sources.
The operation was launched on September 13, 2026, after intelligence sources confirmed the presence of Naqeeb, described as a commander associated with Fitna al-Hindustan , in the Kardagab area of Sherinab Valley.
Acting on the intelligence, security forces moved swiftly to intercept the terrorist commander. The forces targeted the vehicle in which Naqeeb was travelling, resulting in the killing of Naqeeb alias Ameer and two other Khawarij terrorists.
The elimination of a reported FAH commander is significant because intelligence-led operations increasingly focus on disrupting the leadership and operational structure of terrorist networks rather than merely responding to attacks after they occur. By identifying militant commanders and tracking their movements, security forces seek to disrupt the networks responsible for planning, coordinating and facilitating terrorist activity in the province.
Naqeeb’s reported presence in the Sherinab Valley also highlights the continued efforts by terrorist groups to establish or maintain hideouts in remote areas of Balochistan. Such locations can provide militants with space to evade detection, organise their activities and move between different areas of the province.
The latest action comes amid an intensified counter-terrorism campaign across Balochistan under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna III. Security forces have conducted a series of intelligence-based operations against Fitna al-Hindustan elements in different districts, with recent operations in Mastung, Washuk, Kharan and other areas resulting in the deaths of multiple terrorists.
In an earlier Mastung operation under the same operation, six Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists were killed and a terrorist hideout was destroyed, according to reporting based on ISPR statements.
The continuing operations indicate that security forces are seeking to maintain pressure on terrorist networks across the province while preventing terrorists from rebuilding their infrastructure after previous losses. The campaign has also involved intelligence gathering, targeted engagements and subsequent sanitisation operations in areas where terrorist activity has been detected.
For terrorist organisations operating in Balochistan, the loss of commanders and trained operatives can disrupt their ability to coordinate attacks and sustain their presence on the ground. It also places greater pressure on remaining members of these networks, particularly those attempting to operate from remote areas while avoiding detection by security forces.
Security forces have reiterated that counter-terrorism operations will continue against terrorist networks and their facilitators until their operational capability is dismantled.
The hunt for remaining terrorists and their facilitators continues.
