
Security forces carried out separate intelligence-based operations in Quetta and Kachhi district of Balochistan, killing three militants belonging to the proscribed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), officials confirmed.
According to security sources, an operation was conducted in Quetta’s Dagari area following actionable intelligence about the presence of banned BLA militants. During the operation, two terrorists were killed after an exchange of fire. The slain terrorists were identified as Sajjad Zehri alias Sarang and Asmatullah Stakzai alias Siraj. Security personnel also recovered arms and ammunition from the site.
In a separate operation in the Sanni area of Kachhi district, security forces eliminated another BLA militant identified as Ismail alias Sufi. Officials said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt militant movement and dismantle terrorist networks operating in the region.
Counter-Terrorism Report Highlights
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Home Department has released a comprehensive counter-terrorism performance report, revealing that 707 terrorists were killed during the year as security forces carried out approximately 78,000 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across the province.
Briefing on the report, the Additional Home Secretary stated that attacks on security forces have declined compared to the previous year, attributing the improvement to enhanced operational planning, improved intelligence coordination, and closer collaboration among law enforcement agencies.
However, the official warned that militant groups are increasingly shifting their focus toward civilian targets, underscoring the evolving security challenges in Balochistan.
Authorities reiterated that counter-terrorism operations will continue to ensure public safety and maintain law and order across the province.
