A terrorist was killed, and another detonated his suicide vest during an intense exchange of gunfire with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Quetta on Monday. Both individuals were members of the banned organization.
The encounter took place in the Darakhshan area of Quetta, where CTD personnel recovered a suicide vest along with a significant cache of arms and ammunition from the scene. The shootout continued for over an hour. CTD sources revealed that the terrorists had been planning a major attack in the province, but swift action by the department thwarted their plans.

On April 18, 2025, an earlier encounter occurred in the city of Duki, Balochistan, where five terrorists were killed during a gunfight with CTD personnel. According to security sources, the terrorists, who had been involved in attacks on laborers and security forces, were killed, with their bodies later transported to Quetta.
A CTD spokesperson shared that the operation in Duki was launched following intelligence reports about the presence of militants associated with a banned outfit. The suspects opened fire on law enforcement personnel, igniting a fierce battle that resulted in the death of all five militants. Officials confirmed that these terrorists had a history of targeted attacks on workers, civilians, and law enforcement agencies in Quetta’s mining region, including involvement in kidnappings.
