On Sunday, Nawabshah (Shaheed Benazirabad) and Dadu recorded the region’s highest temperatures at a blistering 47°C, while Moenjo Daro and Sibi closely followed at 46°C. Cities like Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Mithi also faced searing heat, registering 45°C. Karachi was not spared either, as residents endured unusually harsh sunshine.
Authorities have urged the public to take proactive measures to protect themselves from heat-related illnesses. Recommendations include staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and ensuring vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly are safeguarded from direct sun exposure.
With extreme temperatures expected to persist in the coming days, concerns are mounting over public health risks and increased pressure on energy resources.
