Two election officials lost their lives and another was seriously injured in a road accident on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway near Surab on Friday.
According to police reports, District Election Commissioner Mohammad Akbar Qureshi and data entry operator Maqsood Ahmed died at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the collision involving two vehicles. Saddam Hussain Mengal, an assistant at the Surab election office, was injured and has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
After the completion of medico-legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families.
In a separate tragic incident, three teenagers drowned while swimming in the Sarona stream in the Khuzdar district. Levies officials recovered the bodies and returned them to their families. The victims were identified as Ahmed Ali, Ghulam Mustafa, and Wazir Ahmed.
