BYC blocks national highway, causing hardships for public, Balochistan govt spokesperson

The spokesperson for the Balochistan government has condemned the recent actions of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), stating that the group’s blockade of the national highway has caused significant hardships for the public, particularly for travelers coming from Karachi and other cities. The blockage left many passengers stranded and in distress.

According to the spokesperson, the police took lawful action to clear the road, aiming to restore normalcy and ease the suffering of the public. However, the protesters resorted to stone-throwing and violent acts against law enforcement officials during the demonstrations.

As a result of the clashes, ten people, including a lady police constable and several police personnel, were injured and brought to the hospital for treatment, the spokesperson confirmed.

The BYC had placed the bodies of the eliminated terrorists on the road as part of their protest. The government had yet to determine if the bodies were brought from the hospital.

The spokesperson further emphasized that until the bodies are properly brought to the hospital and necessary legal procedures are followed, it is not possible to determine the exact reasons behind the incident. The spokesperson also stressed that such actions, which disrupt peace and order, are not acceptable.

“The government cannot allow anyone to take the law into their own hands. If the law is violated and public peace is disrupted, the government will not stand as a silent spectator,” the spokesperson added.

Highlighting the government’s responsibility to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, the spokesperson reaffirmed that protecting the lives and property of the public is a constitutional duty that the government will uphold.
