Security forces killed five terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation in South Waziristan, according to security sources.

The operation targeted terrorist hideouts in the district as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security sources said the hideouts were targeted and destroyed during the operation.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the hideouts of the terrorist killed during the operation, according to reports carried by security sources.

The latest operation comes amid continued intelligence-based actions against terrorist networks operating in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In recent days, security forces have reported several operations against Fitna al-Khawarij in the province, including an operation in Eidak, North Waziristan, where seven terrorists were reported killed and their hideouts destroyed.

The term Fitna al-Khawarij is used by Pakistani authorities for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The South Waziristan operation is part of the broader counterterrorism campaign being conducted by security forces under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework. Security forces have continued to rely on intelligence-based operations to locate terrorist hideouts and disrupt armed groups in the region.

The latest reports did not provide details about casualties among security personnel or identify the five terrorist killed in the South Waziristan operation.

The operation was reported on October 3, 2026, alongside separate security actions in Balochistan.
