MASTUNG, Pakistan: Pakistan’s security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Balochistan, killing six more terrorists linked to Fitna al Hindustan during a targeted operation in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung district, security sources said on Thursday.

The latest operation comes two days after the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), announced that 10 terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Mastung, underscoring the ongoing crackdown against terrorist networks operating in the province.

According to security sources, the operation in Khad Kocha was launched on the basis of actionable intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. During the operation, security forces engaged the terrorists, killing six of them.

Multiple suspected terrorists were also arrested during the operation, including facilitators and both male and female suicide bombers, the sources said.

Security forces destroyed several terrorist hideouts during the operation and recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and other military equipment from the sites.

Search and clearance operations remain underway as security personnel continue to maintain a strong presence in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements.

Authorities imposed an indefinite curfew in the Khud Kocha sub-tehsil of Mastung district on Wednesday after three people were killed and five others injured in a gun attack on a Karachi-bound passenger bus, while a bridge on the National Highway was damaged in an explosion in the area by the banned terrorist outfit BLA.

The latest intelligence-based operation follows recent terrorist attacks in Mastung’s Khad Kocha area, where security forces have stepped up counterterrorism operations to dismantle militant infrastructure and prevent further violence.

Pakistan’s security forces have significantly increased intelligence-led operations across Balochistan in recent weeks, targeting terrorist networks involved in attacks against civilians, security personnel, and public institutions.

Officials said the ongoing operations reflect the state’s commitment to dismantling terrorist infrastructure and restoring lasting peace in the province. Security sources reiterated that intelligence-based operations will continue until terrorism is eliminated and peace and stability are fully restored across the region.
