Security forces killed seven Indian-sponsored Khawarij terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Sherani district of Balochistan, following an exchange of fire.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), seven Indian-backed Khawarij terrorists were neutralized in the Sherani operation. A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the slain terrorists. A sanitization operation is underway in the area to clear any remaining threats.
The ISPR stated that the operation was launched on October 1 after receiving credible information about the presence of terrorists.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for eliminating seven terrorists in Sherani, saying that Indian-backed terrorists who sought to harm innocent citizens have been decisively defeated. He reiterated that the menace of terrorism will be eradicated from its roots, affirming that the government and security forces remain committed to completely eliminating terrorism from the country. “Those seeking to undermine Pakistan’s sovereignty will never succeed,” he added.
It is noteworthy that on October 1, security sources had reported the killing of eight terrorists in an IBO in Sherani, though it remains unclear whether today’s update refers to the same group of terrorists.
Just two days earlier, ISPR reported that in separate operations in Quetta and Kech districts, 13 terrorists linked to Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan were killed, while four terrorists were arrested from Khuzdar.
