A severe cold wave continues to persist across Balochistan, including its coastal districts, disrupting routine life and pushing temperatures close to — and in some areas below — the freezing point.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), upper and northern districts of Balochistan are experiencing the harshest conditions, with sub-zero temperatures recorded in high-altitude areas.

Ziarat Coldest in the Province

The PMD reported that Ziarat recorded the lowest temperature in Balochistan, with the mercury plunging to minus 3 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Zhob recorded a minimum temperature of 0°C, reflecting near-freezing conditions.

Temperatures Across Major Districts

In other parts of the province:

  • Nokkundi: 3°C

  • Chaman: 1°C

  • Sibi: 7°C

  • Turbat: 11°C

Despite their coastal location, Balochistan’s shoreline districts also remained under the influence of cold weather:

  • Gwadar: 9°C

  • Jiwani: 11°C

The ongoing cold spell has significantly affected daily routines, particularly in high-altitude and northern districts, where residents are facing harsh night-time and early morning conditions.
