In a swift and coordinated response, security forces have successfully rescued over 400 passengers and 4 terrorists have been eliminated, following a terrorist attack on the Jaffer Express in Balochistan.
As a result of the terrorists’ brutality and indiscriminate firing, three young children have been reported killed.
Security forces have promptly initiated operations against the terrorists. According to initial reports, four terrorists have been killed.
The incident occurred at Bolan Pass near Dhadar, where attackers targeted innocent civilians, ultimately taking hostages as they fled into the mountainous terrain. The attack unfolded when the train, which had departed from Quetta at 9 a.m. and was en route to Peshawar, was halted inside Tunnel No. 8 around 1:15 p.m.
Approximately 400 passengers were held hostage during the assault, which involved heavy gunfire that resulted in the tragic death of the train’s driver and caused widespread panic among passengers.
Despite the challenging conditions, security forces launched a clearance operation that successfully secured the release of the majority of passengers. Reports indicate that some terrorists attempted to use hostages as human shields during their escape.
Security officials are actively pursuing the fleeing attackers, who are believed to have foreign connections. Authorities have vowed to continue operations until all responsible individuals are neutralized.
Railway operations were temporarily suspended following the attack, affecting services such as the Bolan Mail and the Jaffer Express at Sibi for security reasons. Emergency teams were dispatched to aid the affected passengers.
