Security forces on Saturday conducted a fresh intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kardagap, Nushki, targeting a hideout linked to Meharwan, a local commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF).
Acting on actionable intelligence, Nushki Militia recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), an 82mm mortar, one mortar round and a hand grenade during the raid, while the commander’s Toyota Aqua vehicle was also damaged. The operation is the latest in a series of intelligence-led actions aimed at dismantling militant infrastructure across Balochistan.
The latest operation is part of an ongoing intelligence-led campaign by security forces to dismantle militant infrastructure and prevent terrorist attacks across Balochistan.
Just two days earlier, on July 3, security forces foiled a major terrorist attack after a suicide Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) targeted the Pakistan Coast Guards’ Panwan Check Post in Jiwani.
According to security officials, the suicide attacker was identified as Attaullah, son of Gaji Khan, a resident of Mashkai, Awaran.
Attaullah had previously been listed as a “missing person” by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), the Baloch National Movement (BNM) and Paank, before later emerging as the suicide bomber behind the failed attack.
Earlier, on July 1, security forces conducted another intelligence-based operation in Nasirabad district after receiving credible intelligence regarding the movement of terrorists. Troops laid an ambush at the suspected location and, after an exchange of fire, two militants belonging to the banned BLA were killed.
Security officials said a large cache of arms, explosives, communication equipment and other terrorist material was recovered during the operation.
On June 30, security forces foiled another major terrorist plot in Panjgur, recovering a substantial cache of explosives, modern weapons and ammunition believed to have been stockpiled for future attacks.
The recovered material included five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), six rocket launcher shells, three hand grenades, detonating cord, 1,000 rounds of Light Machine Gun ammunition, 400 rounds of sniper rifle ammunition and three Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) shells.
In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted later the same day in Zehri, Khuzdar, security forces killed two high-value terrorists affiliated with the banned BLA.
The latest operations highlight the continued momentum of intelligence-based operations across Balochistan, where security forces are targeting militant hideouts, intercepting weapons and explosives, and disrupting terrorist networks before planned attacks can be carried out.
