Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Nasirabad district of Balochistan after receiving credible intelligence regarding the movement of terrorists in the area.
According to security officials, troops laid an ambush at the suspected location. Following an exchange of fire, two terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH) BLA were neutralised.
A large cache of arms, explosives, communication equipment and other terrorist material was recovered during the operation. The recovered items included a BLA flag and a motorcycle believed to have been used by the militants. Officials said the explosives were intended for use in future terrorist attacks targeting civilians and public infrastructure.
The Nasirabad operation follows a series of recent intelligence-based operations across Balochistan targeting terrorist networks.
On June 30, security forces foiled a major terrorist plot in Panjgur after recovering a large cache of explosives, modern weapons and ammunition believed to have been stockpiled for future attacks. The recovered material included five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), six rocket launcher shells, three hand grenades, detonating cord, 1,000 rounds of Light Machine Gun (LMG) ammunition, 400 rounds of sniper rifle ammunition and three Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) shells.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in the Zehri area of Khuzdar district on the same day, security forces killed two high-value terrorists belonging to the banned BLA.
The latest operation is part of Pakistan’s ongoing intelligence-driven campaign against militant networks operating in Balochistan. In recent weeks, security forces have conducted multiple successful operations across the province, including operations in Panjgur and Khuzdar that disrupted terrorist infrastructure, eliminated militants and led to the recovery of weapons and explosives. These operations reflect continued efforts to deny militant groups freedom of movement and dismantle their logistical networks.
Security officials maintain that intelligence-based operations remain a key component of Pakistan’s counter-terrorism strategy, with security forces continuing to pursue terrorist elements attempting to destabilise Balochistan.
The recovery of explosives and communication equipment in the Nasirabad operation is being viewed as another preventive success, as authorities believe the material was intended for future acts of terrorism. Security forces reiterated their resolve to continue operations until all terrorist networks are dismantled and the security situation across Balochistan is further strengthened.
