Security forces killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, as counter-terrorism operations continue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam framework, security sources said on Wednesday.

According to security sources, the operation was conducted after intelligence information indicated the presence of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorist in Mir Ali and surrounding areas. Security forces targeted the reported terrorist hideouts during the operation, killing three terrorist.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists following the operation, according to security sources. The forces also destroyed reported hideouts used by Fitna al-Khawarij in Mir Ali and adjoining areas.

Security forces also foiled an attempt by the terrorist to stop and intercept a truck carrying ration supplies near Mir Ali Bazaar, according to the same sources. The intervention prevented the reported attempt to seize the vehicle and allowed the truck to continue safely.

Mir Ali is located in North Waziristan, a district that has remained an area of counter-terrorism operations against terrorist groups. Security forces have conducted multiple intelligence-based operations in the district in recent months, targeting reported terrorist hideouts and networks.

The latest operation comes amid continued security activity across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against terrorist groups. On September 29, security forces also reported killing five Fitna al-Khawarij terrorist in an intelligence-based operation in Bara, Khyber district, with weapons and ammunition recovered from the site.

Security authorities have said that counter-terrorism operations will continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework. The stated objective is to target terrorist networks and prevent attacks against security personnel and civilians.

The Mir Ali operation also highlights the security challenge surrounding civilian supply routes in areas affected by terrorist activity. Attempts to stop transport vehicles can disrupt the movement of essential supplies and create additional risks for local communities.

Security forces are continuing search and clearance activities in the area following the operation, while further details regarding the identities and previous activities of the three killed terrorist have not been officially released.
