Security forces have killed 10 India-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Zhob, Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign in the district. The sanitisation operation was conducted on February 25, following an earlier IBO on February 24 in which eight terrorists were neutralised.

ISPR said the operation aimed to track down remaining militants belonging to the Indian proxy group referred to as Fitna al Khwarij. During the search, security forces identified terrorist movement on multiple routes and effectively engaged their locations. After an intense exchange of fire, 10 India-backed terrorists were killed.

The statement added that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain militants, who were actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area.

ISPR further said that sanitisation operations are continuing to eliminate any remaining militants in the region. It reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to a relentless counterterrorism drive under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
