Security forces have foiled an attempted terrorist attack by Fitna al-Hindustan targeting the vehicle and protection squad of the Deputy Commissioner of Tump in Makran, according to security sources.

The terrorists reportedly attempted to target the Deputy Commissioner’s vehicle as part of a plan to abduct members of his protection squad. Security forces responded swiftly, disrupting the attack before the terrorists could execute their plan.

According to security sources, the timely intervention forced the attackers to abandon their vehicle and weapons and flee the area. All personnel belonging to the Deputy Commissioner’s protection squad were safely secured and remained unharmed.

Timely Response Thwarts Abduction Attempt

The incident highlights the importance of rapid response in protecting government officials and public institutions operating in security-sensitive areas of Balochistan.

Security sources said several Fitna al-Hindustan attackers were also injured during the response. The terrorists reportedly fled after coming under pressure from security forces, leaving behind their vehicle and weapons.

The attempted attack appears to have been aimed not only at damaging a government vehicle but also at abducting personnel attached to the Deputy Commissioner’s protection team. The failure of the operation prevented the terrorists from achieving either objective.

Recent Attacks on Judicial Officials

The incident assumes greater significance against the backdrop of recent attacks on judicial officials in Balochistan. In July, District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his security guard were killed when unidentified armed men opened fire on their vehicle on the national highway in Mastung. Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari and another person were also seriously injured.

The incident also comes amid continued intelligence-based and counter-terrorism operations against terrorists networks operating across Balochistan.

Security forces have increasingly focused on disrupting terrorist cells before they can conduct attacks, while also pursuing terrorists following failed attacks and attempts to establish temporary checkpoints or target government and security personnel.

The latest incident in Tump demonstrates how timely intervention can prevent terrorist groups from converting an attempted attack into a successful operation.

The abandonment of the vehicle and weapons also provides security personnel with material that could potentially assist in identifying the attackers and tracing their wider network.

Terrorists Fail to Achieve Operational Objective

For Fitna al-Hindustan, the attempted attack ultimately failed to achieve its reported objectives. The Deputy Commissioner’s protection squad remained safe, the targeted vehicle was protected and the attackers were forced to withdraw from the scene.

The incident further underlines the continuing security challenge in parts of Makran, where terrorist groups have sought to target government personnel, security forces and state-linked infrastructure.

Security forces remain engaged in efforts to prevent such attacks, disrupt terrorists networks and maintain security for public officials and civilians across the province.
