All the deceased terrorists were of Afghan nationality, and their bodies fell within the territory of Afghanistan. Even 15 days after their deaths, no one came to claim the bodies, which were left to decompose on the Afghan side of the border.
Sources report that after a jirga (tribal council meeting) with Afghan authorities on August 25, the bodies were loaded onto donkeys and taken away. During the time they lay unclaimed, carnivorous animals were seen feeding on the remains.
