District Chaman Launches Transformative "Adopt a School" Program.

The District Administration chaman has unveiled the “Adopt a School” program—the first in the province. This project seeks to invite individuals and organizations to adopt schools, contributing to improving infrastructure and uplifting the quality of education.

The initiative centers around three key pillars: improving infrastructure, enhancing education quality, and promoting health and hygiene. By adopting a school, sponsors will be responsible for its maintenance. It is also responsible for the development of facilities, and the welfare of students and staff alike.

From providing uniforms, books, and bags for students to organizing teacher training sessions focused on modern teaching methodologies. Adopters will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of education.

Applications for the program are now open, with a submission deadline of January 30, 2025. The District Administration has made a heartfelt appeal to philanthropists, corporate entities, and education advocates to take part in this transformative journey.

District Chaman launched a school program

South Asia press report of June 2024 shows that approximately 70 percent of children in Balochistan who are of primary and secondary school age are not attending school. Gender significantly influences the lack of access to education in this region. Around 78 percent of girls and 63 percent of boys not receiving an education. Alarmingly, in rural Balochistan, fewer than 2 percent of women are literate.

Previous governments have not effectively tackled this urgent issue, resulting in a neglected educational environment in the region. Nevertheless, the new initiative launched in Chaman represents a hopeful beginning. This program aims to enhance access to quality education. It offers a positive step toward resolving the ongoing crisis and fostering significant change in Balochistan.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chaman Habib Bangulzai told Balochistan Pulse, “We have initially around 5 to 6 proposals from participants who are ready to adopt. In addition, we are hopeful that many more adopters will come forward”.

He emphasized the goal of this initiative by saying that it seeks to motivate those who can contribute to take on their social responsibility. Which enable them to help guide the community toward progress and enhancement.

Furthermore, He has Sincerely called on philanthropists, businesses, and education supporters to come forward and join in this transformative journey.
Rabia, a mother, shared her hope that this initiative would help ensure that no other children have to miss out on education like her daughter did because of insufficient resources. She emphasized that these efforts could change many lives and create opportunities for a better future.
