As part of the Pak-China educational collaboration, 18 students from Gwadar have been selected to attend three semesters at the Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (SICT) in China. These students are beneficiaries of the prestigious Chinese Consular Scholarship Programme.
Earlier this year, on April 29, 2025, a total of 99 students from Gwadar were awarded the Chinese Consular Scholarship. Under the tetra-partite agreement between the China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA), SICT, and the University of Gwadar, the diploma students currently studying at the Pak-China Vocational and Technical Institute (PCVTI) in Gwadar will complete one year of studies locally, while their remaining three semesters will be conducted at SICT in Shandong, China.
The scholarship program has supported 30 female and 39 male students pursuing various degrees, such as Pharm D, BBA, Sociology, Fine Arts, MBBS, MPhil, B.Ed, LLB, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, Radiology, Fisheries, Political Science, Botany, Biochemistry, and Management Science. These students hail from the University of Gwadar, Pak-China Technical & Vocational Institute, and other institutions, as reported by Gwadar Pro.
