Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti leads key meeting on Quetta’s transformation

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired an important meeting in Quetta focused on the city’s beautification, cleanliness, and development.

Commissioner Quetta Hamza Shafqat and PPP Authority CEO Dr. Faisal Khan provided briefings. The first Mountain View IT Park under a public-private partnership in Quetta has been completed. This park, hosting three software houses, has created 100 job opportunities for young people. The project saved Rs. 1.5 billion and was completed without government expenses.

The city’s waste collection capacity has been increased from 300 tons to 1,000 tons daily. Over the past year, 3,200 closed schools in the province have been reopened. For the first time since Pakistan’s independence, a maternity and childbirth case was registered at Quetta’s state hospital in Baked. In recognition of the provincial health minister’s performance, the newborn was named “Bakht Muhammad.”

The Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has approved the appointment of magistrates to enforce municipal laws. Efforts are underway to make the service delivery system more efficient and transparent. Reforms in municipal services are yielding positive results.

The Chief Minister has welcomed constructive criticism and emphasized that encouraging good initiatives is everyone’s responsibility. The upcoming budget will be transparent, with strict measures to prevent resource wastage.

The Chief Minister directed further improvements in municipal services for the betterment of Quetta. He instructed the finance and local government departments to release pending funds to supporting institutions without delay. He also ordered that no commission or bribe should be paid by supporting institutions during public projects.
