RDMC inaugurates community health clinic and primary school in Chagai
Officials and community members attend the inauguration of a community health clinic and primary school by RDMC in District Chagai.

RDMC community development in Chagai took a step forward on December 23, 2025, as Reko Diq Mining Company inaugurated a community health clinic and a primary school under its community investment programme, aimed at improving access to basic healthcare and education in remote areas of the district.

Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) on Tuesday inaugurated a community health clinic and a primary school in District Chagai as part of its ongoing community investment programme, aimed at improving access to basic healthcare and education in remote areas.

The facilities — Mashki Chah Community Health Clinic and Nokchah Primary School — were inaugurated by Ryan Mitchell, General Manager of the Reko Diq Project, in the presence of community representatives and local elders.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mitchell said the projects were identified through consultations with Community Development Committees (CDCs) to ensure they address local needs and promote community participation.

“These are community-focused initiatives designed to deliver practical benefits. The objective is to support sustainable services that can be maintained and strengthened by local communities over time,” he said.

The Mashki Chah facility is the third community health clinic established by RDMC in District Chagai. Earlier clinics have been set up in Hummay village and Nokkundi. The clinic will provide basic healthcare services, with a particular focus on maternal and child health, including antenatal and postnatal care.

According to Muhammad Essa Tahir, Community Investment Lead at RDMC, the three health clinics, along with a mobile health unit currently serving more than 20 villages, are helping expand access to medical services in remote parts of the district.

The inauguration of the Nokchah Primary School marks an expansion of RDMC’s education-related initiatives in the area. The company said education remains a key component of its community investment efforts, focusing on improving school infrastructure and access to learning facilities.

The opening ceremony was attended by students, parents, teachers, CDC members, tribal elders, and local notables. Community representative Abdul Salam said the establishment of the school would help improve educational opportunities for children in the area.

In addition to infrastructure support, RDMC said it is facilitating teacher recruitment and providing textbooks and school uniforms at schools it supports across District Chagai, aimed at improving access to quality education.
