Two Police officers tragically killed in Quetta attack

Two police officers lost their lives during a violent exchange at a police post in the Shaban area, approximately 20 km northeast of Quetta. The incident late Thursday night left four armed attackers dead.

Reports from officials indicate that the attackers targeted a joint post of police and forest guards, leading to an intense gunfight. The clash also wounded two individuals, including a police constable and a forest guard. “Two of our personnel were martyred,” a senior police officer confirmed. He added that Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel and Frontier Corps (FC) troops immediately launched a counter-attack.

“DIG Quetta Atizaz Goraya stated that the CTD neutralized four attackers. The operation, which continued into the night, resulted in the recovery of four bodies from the site. Authorities have identified Shamsul Islam and Muhammad Ramzan as the martyred policemen.

On the same night, a separate incident occurred on Qambrani Road in Sikanderabad, where a bomb exploded prematurely, reportedly killing the individual carrying it. Authorities suspect the man was transporting the bomb to plant it elsewhere. Authorities transferred his body to Civil Hospital and are conducting investigations.
