A powerful explosion occurred on the railway track near the University of Balochistan on Munir Mengel Road, causing significant damage and disrupting train operations.
According to SSP Operations Quetta, the blast took place near the Lohar Karez Bridge, damaging approximately one foot of the railway track. The incident has temporarily affected train services in the area.
Captain (Retd) Asif Khan confirmed that police, the Special Branch, and the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) are present at the scene. Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police teams are conducting a search operation to secure the area and collect evidence.
Authorities have urged citizens to avoid spreading rumours and report any suspicious activity immediately.
