A disturbing incident was reported from Quetta’s Kachlak area, where the body of an unidentified man was found near DHA in what police described as a suspected targeted killing.
According to initial reports, the man appeared to have been tortured before being shot dead. Unidentified assailants opened fire on the victim and later abandoned his body near the Kachlak DHA area before fleeing the scene.
Police reached the location after receiving information about the body and shifted it for medico-legal procedures.
The killing in Kachlak comes amid a wider pattern of deadly shootings and targeted violence reported from different parts of Balochistan, alongside a number of fatal road accidents in the province. On Tuesday alone, police reported several separate incidents in Awaran, Kohlu and Surab, highlighting the continuing security concerns facing communities across the province.
In Awaran’s Jhao area, unidentified gunmen reportedly opened fire on a father and his son, killing both before fleeing the scene. Police shifted the bodies to hospital and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack. In Kohlu’s Garsani area, another man was shot dead by an unidentified attacker who escaped after the incident, while Surab’s Gadar area witnessed a separate shooting in which Aziz Muhammad was killed when unidentified armed men opened fire on him.
The Surab killing has attracted particular attention because police sources said Aziz Muhammad had reportedly received threats from the banned BLA several days before he was killed. Investigators are examining whether those threats were connected to the attack, although the circumstances and motive have yet to be conclusively established.
Against this backdrop, the discovery of the tortured body near DHA in Kachlak, Quetta, has added another serious case to the list of recent violent incidents. The victim was reportedly shot after being subjected to torture, raising questions about the nature of the attack and the circumstances that preceded it.
