Official data released by the Quetta Police highlights significant crime trends in the provincial capital during 2025–26, showing that while street crime remained a challenge, law enforcement achieved notable success against organized crime, illegal weapons, and narcotics.
Motorcycle Snatching Remains Most Reported Crime
Motorcycle snatching emerged as the most frequent offence in Quetta, with 547 cases reported during the period under review. The highest number of incidents was recorded in July 2025 (69 cases), while the lowest was reported in January 2026 (9 cases), indicating a sharp decline towards the end of the period.
Police data shows that 1,587 individuals were involved in these cases. Authorities arrested 248 suspects and recovered 246 motorcycles, reflecting a 45 percent recovery rate.
Motor Vehicle Snatching and Robbery
Motor vehicle snatching cases remained comparatively low, with 33 cases reported. The highest number of incidents was recorded in June 2025 (six cases), while no cases were reported in November 2025. Police arrested 21 suspects and recovered 20 vehicles, achieving a 61 percent recovery rate.
Robbery cases totaled 153, peaking at 20 cases in June 2025 and falling to just one case in January 2026. In these cases, 67 suspects were arrested, while stolen property was recovered in 43 percent of incidents.
Dacoity Cases Limited but Persistent
The report recorded 22 dacoity cases, mostly concentrated in early and late 2025. The highest monthly figure was five cases in January 2025, while several months reported zero incidents. Police arrested 14 suspects, with a 50 percent recovery rate.
Strong Enforcement Under Arms Ordinance
A major highlight of the report was enforcement under the Arms Ordinance. A total of 698 cases were registered, with all accused arrested, marking a 100 percent arrest rate. Recoveries included 61 pistols, six rifles, one light machine gun (LMG), and 643 cartridges, underscoring intensified action against illegal weapons.
Crackdown on Drugs and Liquor
Quetta Police also launched an aggressive campaign against narcotics and liquor. During 2025–26, 656 cases were registered, with 655 arrests, translating into an arrest rate of nearly 99 percent.
Seizures included 1,246 kilograms of charas, 60.8 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 122.9 kilograms of opium, and 30 bottles of liquor, reflecting one of the largest anti-narcotics drives in recent years.
Judicial Outcomes Show Heavy Caseload
Judicial data (Gushwara) shows that 2,225 cases were decided during the period. Of these, 1,373 cases (62 percent) resulted in convictions, while 852 cases (38 percent) were settled through compromise. Meanwhile, 3,462 cases remain under trial, indicating a heavy burden on the judicial system and a high rate of negotiated settlements.
Action Against Organized Crime
The report further reveals that police busted 125 criminal gangs, arresting 283 gang members. The highest number of gang busts was recorded in January 2025 (23 gangs), pointing to sustained operations against organized crime networks in the city.

Despite persistent challenges related to street crime, the data suggests that Quetta Police made measurable gains in curbing illegal weapons, narcotics trafficking, and organized criminal activity. The sharp decline in several crime categories towards early 2026 points to the impact of sustained policing and intelligence-led operations.
