The Government of Balochistan has confirmed that the deadly explosion near Chaman Phatak in Quetta was a suicide vehicle bomb attack, a significant development in the investigation into the incident that left 14 people martyred and 20 others injured, including women and children.

The official confirmation establishes that the attack specifically targeted a train shuttle service.

According to the official statement, three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were among those martyred, while the majority of the victims were civilians, including passengers, pedestrians, and residents of nearby homes.

Authorities also confirmed that four members of the same family — father, mother, son, and daughter — lost their lives in the devastating blast, deepening grief across Balochistan.

While the blast was initially reported as a powerful explosion near Chaman Phatak, the Government of Balochistan has now officially confirmed that it was a suicide bombing carried out using an explosive-laden vehicle.
