In a brazen daylight robbery, six heavily armed men stormed an MCB Bank branch on Sariab Road in Quetta on Tuesday and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, triggering a large-scale police search operation.
According to police, the incident took place at around 2:30 PM within the jurisdiction of Kachhi Baig Police Station, when six armed suspects entered the bank, took control of the premises, and escaped with bags filled with cash.
Authorities said the exact amount stolen is yet to be determined.
Witnesses said the robbers completed the operation within minutes and fled. No injuries were reported, and neither bank staff nor security guards offered resistance during the incident.
Police teams reached the scene shortly after the robbery and launched an investigation, collecting evidence and reviewing available surveillance footage to identify the suspects.
Possible Militant Link Under Investigation
Police officials stated that the suspects’ appearance and operational style suggested they may have links to an armed group. However, no organizational flags or identifying symbols were found at the scene.
Local residents claimed the attackers appeared to be associated with a banned terrorist organization, though authorities have not officially confirmed any group’s involvement.
