Quetta Gladiators triumph over Multan Sultans in PSL 10 thriller

Quetta Gladiators secured a dramatic last-ball victory against Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, thanks to stellar performances from Khawaja Nafay and Hasan Nawaz. The thrilling match took place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Chasing 186, Quetta needed 11 runs off the final over. Hasan Nawaz, who smashed six sixes and two fours during his standout innings, delivered under pressure. While Mohammad Hasnain restricted runs in the first three balls, Hasan launched a crucial six on the fourth and sealed the game with another stunning six on the last ball, finishing with an unbeaten 67 off 38 balls.

Opener Khawaja Nafay also played a critical role, scoring 12 runs early in the innings to set the tone. Saud Shakeel rotated the strike effectively before falling for 18, and while wickets tumbled throughout the middle overs, cameo contributions from Dinesh Chandimal (17 off 10) and Faheem Ashraf (16 runs) kept the chase alive.

Earlier, Multan Sultans, opting to bat first, set a competitive target of 186, with Yasir Khan scoring 45 runs and noteworthy contributions from Tayyab Tahir (36 runs) and Shahid Aziz (29 runs). Quetta’s Usman Tariq excelled with the ball, bagging 3 wickets for 32 runs.

The high-octane action of PSL 10 resumed on May 17 after a nine-day suspension due to rising tensions between Pakistan and India. The revised schedule promises plenty of excitement. On May 18, Rawalpindi hosted a double-header, with Peshawar Zalmi set to face Lahore Qalandars in the evening. Defending champions Islamabad United will clash with Karachi Kings on May 19 in the final group-stage match.

The tournament now advances to Lahore, with the first Qualifier on May 21 and Eliminator matches on May 22 and 23. All eyes will be on the grand finale, set to take place at Gaddafi Stadium on May 25.
