Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore on Wednesday to discuss the province’s law and order situation, ongoing protests, and development projects.
During the meeting, the prime minister emphasized that Balochistan’s progress is a priority for the government and reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating development and improving the quality of life for its citizens. CM Bugti also conveyed Eidul Fitr greetings to the prime minister during the meeting.

After the meeting, CM Bugti shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) his satisfaction with the discussions, praising the prime minister’s assurance of cooperation. He noted that federal government-backed projects would contribute significantly to the province’s economy and public welfare. CM Bugti further stressed the government’s commitment to resolving Balochistan’s challenges through active engagement with all stakeholders.
On Eid, CM Bugti met with key political leaders, including National Party President Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey. These meetings focused on fostering political consensus and shared discussions on Balochistan’s development and stability. CM Bugti highlighted the importance of collaboration among political parties and pledged to consider all constructive proposals to promote peace and progress in the province.
He was accompanied by prominent figures such as Senator Mir Kabir Ahmad Muhammad Shahi, provincial minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, and Parliamentary Secretary Mir Obaidullah Gorgage.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to announce a significant reduction in electricity tariffs for domestic and industrial consumers today (Thursday). The announcement is likely to offer relief under a new package designed to support consumers.
Additionally, the prime minister recently decided to maintain the current solar policy, allowing buyback of electricity from private producers at a rate of Rs27 per unit, reversing a decision by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) regarding changes to the net metering policy for rooftop solar systems.
