Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited Quetta for one day to evaluate the province’s overall conditions, including development initiatives and public safety. Upon reaching Quetta Airport, he was welcomed by Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffer Khan Mandokhail and Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti.

Shehbaz Sharif is traveling to Balochistan. He is scheduled to meet soldiers wounded in the Kalat operation. The operation was against militants. The Prime Minister’s Office stated this. He will also speak with provincial authorities. The aim is to understand the security situation in the area.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Energy Minister Owais Laghari are accompanying him on this tour.

Before the Prime Minister’s visit, Army Chief General Asim Munir had also visited Balochistan to assess the security situation. While visiting, he received a briefing from high-ranking military and intelligence officials regarding the province’s security situation. As per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Asim Munir participated in the funeral prayers for martyred security staff with the Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan and afterward visited CMH to see injured soldiers.

His visit occurred after a counter-terrorism operation in the Mangocher region of Kalat during the night of January 31 and February 1, when terrorists tried to obstruct a road. Law enforcement acted quickly, neutralizing 12 militants while protecting the well-being of the community. Nevertheless, 18 soldiers lost their lives during the operation. Responding to the matter, General Asim Munir remarked, “We fully understand those who serve as agents for foreign powers in promoting terrorism. We will find them and defeat them, no matter where they hide.”

The Prime Minister and the Army Chief made distinct visits. These visits highlight their joint dedication. Both commit to the stability of Balochistan. They also focus on the development of Balochistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif concentrated on governance and also focused on economic development. General Asim Munir strengthened the security structure to address regional threats. Their joint efforts emphasize the significance of a safe and thriving Balochistan within Pakistan’s national priorities.
