Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the recent terrorist attack in Surab, Balochistan, calling it a “cowardly act.” The attack targeted a bank, civilians, and government officials and resulted in the tragic loss of Additional Deputy Commissioner Hidayatullah Baloch.
The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to ADC Baloch’s family, honoring his bravery and sacrifice in defending his community against the attackers. He expressed deep sympathy for the grieving family and prayed for their strength during this challenging time.
Shehbaz Sharif strongly criticized the attackers for deliberately targeting unarmed civilians, including women and children, highlighting the inhumanity of those opposing peace and development in Balochistan. He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and emphasized that such acts of violence will not deter the nation from its mission of progress and security.
The Prime Minister also praised ADC Baloch’s selfless heroism, describing his sacrifice as a symbol of courage and resilience that inspires the entire nation. He assured the public that Pakistan’s armed forces remain steadfast in combating terrorist networks, which he claimed are being supported by external elements, including India.
Shehbaz Sharif directed relevant authorities to act swiftly in identifying and bringing the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing national unity in this fight. He reiterated the nation’s solidarity with its armed forces, who tirelessly work to eliminate terrorism and its enablers.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti also condemned the attack, commending the valiant efforts of ADC Baloch, who put his life on the line despite holding an administrative post. Reports suggest that dozens of BLA militants coordinated the attack, setting fire to government buildings, police stations, and creating blockades on the Quetta-Karachi highway. Security forces continue to engage in efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the region.
