In response to this serious act of aggression, ISPR stated that the Pakistan armed forces executed a determined counteraction under the operation name Marka-e-Haq, conducting precise and significant retaliatory strikes through Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. A total of 11 members of the Pakistan armed forces lost their lives, and 78 sustained injuries while valiantly defending the homeland, as noted.
The ISPR also disclosed the names of the fallen personnel, which include: Pakistan Army Naik Abdul Rehman, Lance Naik Dilawar Khan, Lance Naik Ikramullah, Naik Waqar Khalid, Sepoy Muhammad Adeel Akbar, and Sepoy Nisar; and from the Pakistan Air Force, Squadron Leader Usman Yousuf, Chief Technician Aurangzeb, Senior Technician Najeeb, Corporal Technician Farooq, and Senior Technician Mubashir.
The ISPR emphasized that the noble sacrifices of these martyrs serve as a lasting testament to courage, dedication, and steadfast patriotism, forever engraved in the collective memory of the nation.
The media division of the military stated that the armed forces, along with the citizens of Pakistan, honor the sacrifices of the fallen civilians and military members, while extending sincere prayers for the rapid recovery of those injured.
The statement emphasized the nation’s unwavering determination in the face of hostility, asserting that any future attempts to undermine Pakistan’s sovereignty or territorial integrity will be met with a prompt, comprehensive, and resolute response, Inshallah. Furthermore, the Pakistan armed forces initiated a significant retaliatory operation, designated ‘Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,’ targeting various Indian military positions across multiple areas.
The military actions, characterized by officials as ‘accurate and measured’, were executed in reaction to India’s ongoing hostilities along the Line of Control (LoC) and within the territory of Pakistan, which New Delhi asserted were directed at ‘terrorist targets’ following the Pahalgam incident in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) last month. Following a conflict lasting no less than 87 hours, the hostilities between the two nuclear-capable countries concluded on May 10 with a ceasefire accord facilitated by the United States.
