The committee condemned recent terrorist attacks, expressing solidarity with victims’ families and commending the bravery and professionalism of Pakistan’s security forces. It reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and emphasized the necessity of a unified political and strategic approach to counterterrorism.

The government highlighted the National Action Plan and Azm-e-Istahkam strategy as key frameworks to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt logistical support, and sever ties between terrorism and organized crime.

Concerns over the misuse of social media by terrorist groups were brought to light, with the committee urging stricter measures to curb propaganda, recruitment, and attack coordination online.

The PCNS strongly reiterated its support for armed forces and law enforcement agencies, emphasizing the nation’s solidarity with their efforts. It also warned that hostile forces collaborating with any entity would not be allowed to destabilize Pakistan’s peace and security.

The session followed a recent attack by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militants in Bolan district, where train passengers were taken hostage. While the military rescued over 440 passengers and eliminated 33 attackers, the operation tragically resulted in the loss of 26 civilian lives and four security personnel.

The committee regretted the absence of some opposition members and reaffirmed that consultations on national security would continue, stressing the importance of a cohesive national effort to combat terrorism effectively.
