Following the attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan, security forces are continuing their operation, 190 passengers have been safely rescued, while 30 terrorists have been eliminated.
The terrorists who carried out the cowardly attack on the Jaffar Express are in contact with their facilitators in Afghanistan. The terrorists have positioned suicide bombers very close to some innocent hostages among the passengers.
According to security sources, the suicide bombers are using women and children as shields. They have taken women and children hostage at three different locations, and the presence of women and children with the suicide bombers is causing security forces to exercise extreme caution during the operation.
Security forces have dispatched 37 injured individuals for medical assistance, rescued 190 passengers from the terrorists, and eliminated 30 terrorists. The operation by security forces is ongoing to eliminate the remaining terrorists.
Officials have confirmed that the attack has killed at least 10 people, though the total number of casualties remains unknown. According to Imran Hayat, the Divisional Superintendent (DS) of Railways in Quetta, the engine driver was among those killed in the attack.
Testimony from a Rescued Passenger
A passenger who was freed during the forces’ operation said that there was gunfire, and thanked Allah that the army and FC personnel brought them to safety. The passenger stated that the army and FC personnel rescued them and safely brought them here.
Security officials have stated that they are conducting the rescue operation with extra caution due to the hostages in the terrorists’ custody.
Security forces have transferred the 104 rescued passengers to a nearby Panir railway station, which includes 58 men, 31 women, and 15 children. A relief train has taken them to the nearby Mach station, while efforts to safely rescue the remaining passengers are ongoing.
