Security forces killed three  militants during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted in the Tasp area of Panjgur after receiving credible intelligence about the presence of armed militants in the region. During the operation, troops engaged in an exchange of fire with the militants.

The ISPR identified the killed individuals as Farooq (alias Soro), Adeel, and Waseem, describing Farooq as a local commander linked to a banned outfit. Security sources said  the men were involved in multiple militant activities in the area.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosive material were recovered from the site of the operation, the statement added.

The military said the action helped avert a potential large-scale attack and that clearance operations are continuing in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining militants.

In a separate development, sources also reported a drone strike in the Mangochar area, where several militants belonging to a banned organization were  killed, including a commander identified as Sher Muhammad (alias Shera) along with multiple associates. Independent confirmation of the drone strike was not immediately available.

The ISPR reiterated that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue counterterrorism operations under the broader framework of the national security vision aimed at stabilizing the country.

Balochistan has witnessed intermittent militant violence in recent years, with security forces frequently conducting intelligence-based operations targeting outlawed groups.
