Pakistan’s security forces repelled 16 coordinated attacks in northern Balochistan, killing 27 combatants, Information Minister Atta Tarar said on Tuesday, as cross-border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan escalated.

According to the minister, the attacks targeted multiple locations including Killa Saifullah, Noshki, and Chaman. Clashes between Pakistani forces and Afghan Taliban elements have been ongoing since last Thursday.

“All attacks were effectively repelled,” Tarar said, adding that 27 combatants were killed and several others injured during retaliatory operations.

He stated that militants attempted a physical ground assault at one location, while firing raids were conducted at 12 other points. Security forces foiled the attempts without civilian casualties.

Operation Ghazab lil-Haq Update

Providing details of the broader military response, the information minister said that under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq , Pakistani forces have so far killed 464 operatives linked to the Afghan Taliban regime, while more than 665 individuals have been injured.

In a statement posted on X, Tarar said:

  • 188 Taliban check posts have been destroyed

  • 31 check posts have been captured

  • 192 tanks, armored vehicles and artillery guns have been destroyed

  • 56 locations across Afghanistan have been targeted through aerial operations

The minister confirmed that one soldier of FC Balochistan North was martyred during the operations, while five others sustained injuries while defending their positions.

Fighting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Tarar said Afghan Taliban militants also attempted a ground assault at one location in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while firing raids were reported at 12 places. These attacks were repelled without major losses.

He added that 40 combatants were killed overnight in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during continued engagements, and follow-up operations remain underway. A detailed operational update is expected later.

Airstrike in Nangarhar

Security sources said Pakistani armed forces carried out a successful airstrike in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, destroying the Khogyani base used by Afghan Taliban and militant elements.

Officials described the clashes as a response to what they termed unprovoked aggression and said militants were facing setbacks on multiple fronts.

Operation Ghazab lil-Haq will continue until its strategic objectives are achieved, the minister said.
