The Government of Pakistan has announced a temporary pause in Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, an ongoing military campaign targeting militant groups and their support infrastructure along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to the Minister for Information, the suspension will take effect from midnight on March 18/19, 2026, and will continue until midnight on March 23/24, 2026.

The decision has been taken ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations and follows diplomatic outreach from several friendly Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Türkiye.

Officials said the move reflects goodwill and respect for Islamic traditions during the holy festival. The temporary halt is being viewed as a confidence-building gesture during a significant religious occasion.

However, authorities have issued a clear warning that any cross-border aggression, drone strike, or terrorist activity inside Pakistan during this period will trigger an immediate resumption of the operation with increased intensity.

Despite the pause, security forces and intelligence agencies remain on high alert, continuing to monitor the situation closely along the border to prevent any untoward incidents.
