Security forces carry out intelligence-based operation in Bannu, KP, killing 22 terrorists.

Pakistan Army operation kills 37 terrorists in two successful counter-terror actions in Mohmand and Abakhel, security officials confirmed on Wednesday.

As tensions with Afghanistan rise, Pakistan’s security forces reported killing dozens of militants attempting to infiltrate the country. The operation was based on credible intelligence reports suggesting a large militant group was mobilising near the mountainous Khor area of Bahadar Kalay.

“Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched an intensive operation,” sources said.

In Mohmand District, 30 members of the Khawarij group were neutralised after they tried to infiltrate from the Turkmanzai border area. These militants were part of an organised formation sent to carry out terrorist activities in Pakistan.

According to security officials, the Afghan Taliban attempted to send a large formation into Mohmand with Khawarij support, but the Pakistan Army operation thwarted their move with timely and decisive action.

In a separate operation in Abakhel, North Waziristan, seven more Khawarij were killed while preparing for a planned attack. Security sources confirmed that the terrorists were eliminated before they could execute their plan.

The Pakistan Army and security forces reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
