The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has landed at the United Kingdom’s Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025 with its cutting-edge JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jets, showcasing the country’s advanced aviation capabilities on a global platform.
A statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the arrival of PAF’s highly advanced JF-17 Block-III aircraft, accompanied by a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, at the RAF Base Fairford. This deployment emphasizes PAF’s operational excellence and highlights Pakistan’s progress in indigenous aviation technology.
RIAT, running from July 18–20, is recognized as one of the biggest and most prestigious military airshows and supports the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. Through its participation, the Pakistan Air Force aims to share its expertise and commitment to aviation innovation with the international defense community.
Notably, the JF-17 Thunder Block-III demonstrated its sophisticated air-to-air refueling capabilities on its way to the UK, supported by a PAF IL-78 aerial tanker. This operation underscores PAF’s ability to execute extended missions beyond its national limits, enhancing its strategic reach.
The JF-17 Block-III, equipped with an advanced EASA radar system and long-range Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missile capabilities, is a 4.5-generation multi-role combat aircraft adept at a variety of combat missions. Its presence at RIAT is highly anticipated, reflecting the global admiration for its combat-proven capabilities.
