Pakistan Army troops participated in coordinated counterterrorism actions across multiple districts.

Pakistan’s security forces have successfully concluded Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1, a large-scale intelligence-based counterterrorism campaign that eliminated 216 militants linked to Indian-sponsored networks, according to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.

The coordinated operation was carried out across multiple districts of Balochistan, targeting terrorist groups accused of attacking civilians and destabilizing peace in the province.

Operations Launched on Credible Intelligence

The ISPR said the offensive began on January 29, 2026, in Panjgur and the outskirts of Harnai after verified intelligence reports confirmed the presence of militants posing an imminent threat.

Security forces struck identified hideouts, killing 41 terrorists during the initial phase. The military described the militants as part of Indian proxy networks seeking to undermine stability in Balochistan.

Broader Counterterrorism Sweep

Following the initial engagement, a wider series of intelligence-based operations expanded across several regions. These actions focused on dismantling sleeper cells through coordinated search, combing, and sanitisation efforts.

“Through meticulous planning, actionable intelligence, and seamless joint execution, Pakistan’s Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies — with support from intelligence services — responded with precision and resolve,” the ISPR said.

The statement added that the operation significantly weakened terrorist leadership structures and operational capabilities.

Casualties and Recoveries

According to official figures:

  • 216 terrorists killed

  • 22 security personnel martyred

  • 36 civilians, including women and children, lost their lives

Security forces also recovered a large cache of foreign-origin weapons, explosives, ammunition, and communication equipment. Preliminary findings suggest external logistical and financial support for the militant networks.

National Resolve Against Terrorism

The Pakistan Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing counterterrorism efforts under the National Action Plan, stating that operations will continue until all terrorist threats are eliminated.

“Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 stands as a testament to Pakistan’s — and particularly Balochistan’s people’s — unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and development,” the ISPR concluded.

The nation paid tribute to the fallen personnel, honoring their sacrifice in defense of Pakistan’s territorial integrity.
