Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Jeddah, expressing gratitude for Turkey’s leadership of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers. Both leaders reaffirmed their nations’ unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people, with Ishaq Dar highlighting the need to further strengthen the multifaceted partnership between Pakistan and Turkey.
On the sidelines of the OIC session, Ishaq Dar also held discussions with key officials, including Bangladeshi Advisor for Foreign Affairs Mohammad Touhid Hossain, Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohammad Haji Hasan, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and senior Saudi officials.

During the extraordinary session, Ishaq Dar called for unified action from the Muslim world and reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestinian issue. He emphasized the urgent need to end Israeli occupation and advocated for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the high-level meeting convened foreign ministers and senior officials from OIC member states to develop coordinated responses to the worsening situation in Palestine. Discussions focused on addressing Israel’s ongoing military aggression, plans for full military control over Gaza, and continued violations of Palestinian rights.
