The Balochistan government has strongly condemned the killing of two women in Nushki, describing the attack as a brutal act of terrorism and vowing to bring those responsible to justice.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Quetta alongside Provincial Minister Raheela Hameed Durrani and Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola, Chief Minister’s Adviser Meena Majeed said that terrorists had targeted innocent civilians, including women and children, and that the government would not allow enemies of peace to destabilize Balochistan.
Referring to the recent incident in Nushki, Meena Majeed said armed terrorists belonging to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) entered a house and killed two women. She said the provincial government would ensure that the perpetrators are identified and punished according to the law.
“Those who murder women inside their homes cannot claim to represent Baloch traditions or values,” she said. “The brave and honorable people of Balochistan have no connection with terrorism.”
She added that the attackers violated the sanctity of the home and sought to spread fear among local communities. According to Meena Majeed, security forces are continuing operations against militant groups and are making significant sacrifices to maintain peace in the province.
The adviser also said that anti-state terror networks were targeting women and children and attempting to promote a narrative of violence. She stressed that no one would be allowed to undermine peace and stability in Balochistan.
Highlighting the background of one of the victims, Meena Majeed said the deceased woman had lost her home during devastating floods but had rebuilt her life despite severe hardships. She noted that she had been provided employment opportunities to support her family and described her killing as a tragic loss.
“The only fault of these women was that they wanted to live peaceful and dignified lives,” she said.
Meena Majeed further questioned the silence of some human rights organizations regarding terrorist violence in Balochistan and called on the public to reject extremism and support efforts to restore peace.
Provincial Minister Raheela Hameed Durrani also condemned the attack, saying the killing of women inside their home was an act of extreme brutality.
“I strongly condemn this incident,” she said. “It is difficult to understand how such levels of violence can still occur in the 21st century. No group can achieve its objectives by murdering women.”
Durrani expressed concern that the incident had not received wider condemnation and emphasized that women should never be targeted in any conflict. She noted that both religious teachings and international laws provide special protections for women during times of war and unrest.
Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola described the killings of Bibi Hafsa and Bibi Hanifa as a deeply tragic incident and said those responsible would be held accountable.
“As parliamentarians, we have always stood for women’s rights,” she said. “We cannot remain silent in the face of such violence.”
The leaders reiterated that the government and security forces would continue their efforts against militant groups and pledged that those involved in the Nushki killings would be brought before the courts.
